Failure Investigations

Failure of a design can take many forms, including:
  Premature fracturing
Inability to withstand extreme in-service loads
Required level of performance not achieved
Unacceptable effects on surroundings e.g. vibrations, noise, leaks

By using analysis techniques, testing, or a combination of these, Eatec can establish the causes of the failure, and identify the modifications required to ensure the design performs satisfactorily.

Eatec has undertaken failure investigations for clients in many industries, including:
  Power generation
  Railway
  Quarrying
  Marine
  Automotive
  Material handling

Examples of the types of failures investigated by Eatec include:
Fatigue failures of vibrating screens used at quarries
Failure of the slew bearing in a stacker/reclaimer
Failure of air braking system components
  Excessive vibrations of robotic equipment
Leaking of gaskets on cylinder head assemblies

In some of the studies into the causes of failures, Eatec was engaged to act as an Expert Consultant / Expert Witness
